Richmond Hill’s Climate Plan & Our Work
Approved in 2021, Richmond Hill’s Community Energy and Emission Plan (CEEP) guides the city’s vision to become a low carbon city and resilient community with a diversified and strong economy. Climate Action Richmond Hill aims to inform the community of the plan and act accordingly. The climate plan outlines 7 action areas - transportation, building, renewable energy, waste, compact community, municipal leadership and natural heritage - to achieve net-zero by 2050. To succeed, we believe that all stakeholders including the government, residents, businesses and environmental partners must work together.
Monthly Climate Updates
Our monthly climate updates are core to our evidence-based communications campaign. We create climate news that are local and actionable. They inform the community how they can take part in advancing the City’s climate plan. They are shared with residents, environmental partners and local elected officials including the Mayor, Deputy Mayor, and all Councilors for dissemination to their constituents.
